Happy 2010!

Filed under: Home Life — Toni @ 6:02 pm

Well, it only took me 15 days into the New Year to get a post up.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

The holidays were great as usual.  Christmas Eve was “different” to say the least.  I received a call at 2am from the neighbor informing me we were out of power and that she thinks my house may be on fire.  As Jillian and I searched throughout the house for the “fire” we stubbed our toes and ran into walls.  The good news, it was the power lines arching creating a beautiful “flame like” show and not our house burning down.  The bad news, NO POWER for Christmas Eve.  And not only was Santa coming, but Jillian lost a tooth and the Tooth Fairy was due to arrive as well.  It was going to be a busy night, in the pitch black, at our house.  So we hunkered down with our kerosene lanterns, radio and flashlights and started playing Yahtzee.  There was only 40 minutes of daylight left. Luckily, Jillian beat me so bad that we needed a calculator to add up all her points.  She walked into the office to get one and I heard, “Mom, we have power” !  Christmas was on!  So Santa and the Tooth Fairy came by as expected and all was well.

Enjoy the photos and have a healthy, prosperous New Year!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Filed under: Home Life — Toni @ 6:26 pm

The girls and I went to breakfast with Santa over the weekend.  They ate pancakes and did crafts until Santa came in.  Then it was nothing but tears for Averi.  She wasn’t hip with his jive at all.  Even though she showed him no love, he gave her an early present.  He gave Jillian a board game similar to Connect Four too.

Then on Wednesday the first official “snow day” of the year.  No School!!!  The girls loved every minute out in the snow.  I’m glad they enjoyed it because they won’t be going out in it tomorrow.  I think the high’s are going to feel like 20 below.  No… seriously -20.

So all of you Southerners enjoy your bright sunshine and warm temperatures.  If you ever wanted to know what it’s like to have the liquid in your eyes freeze your lids wide open, just come on up and visit us.  Take care for now and Happy Holidays.  Oh and for all of you that requested pictures of snow… enjoy!

Averi’s first time Trick or Treating went off without a hitch.  It didn’t take her long to grasp the concept of; walk up to the house, get some candy. The girls hung in for about 3 hours going door to door.  Averi’s favorite was the dum-dum sucker.  Jillian’s favorite was…all of it!  So without further ado- here’s your pictures.

Let it snow???

Filed under: Home Life — Toni @ 8:06 pm

As summer rolled by with the highs only in the 70’s here in Illinois, Mother Nature had one more trick up her sleeve… snow in October.  Yes we had our first snow yesterday.  (Saturday Oct. 10th).  We tried to make the best of it by going to our

community’s Octoberfest.  There were plenty of crafts, games and drawings.  We even judged a Chili Cook Off.   We kept busy doing crafts at home too.  So enjoy the pics and have a Happy Halloween!

Where does the time go????

Filed under: Home Life — Luke @ 7:58 pm

OK.  So after numerous amounts of requests, and a few threats from the grandparents, I finally got back in to the blogging world so I could put some pictures up of the kids.  This summer was wonderful.  We did a lot of traveling, as you will see.  We did have quite a scare when the baby ended up in the hospital for 3 days.  After a spinal tap, MRI, EEG, blood work, flu test and catscan, the diagnosis…a virus.  But she’s all better now and moving and a shaking like God intended her to.  So I hope you enjoy the pictures and I will try to get back on a little sooner than 6  months this time.  God Bless you all!

Miss Averi is 1!!!

Ok, so there were two parties thrown in honor of Averi turning 1.  One was every baby’s dream birthday at Hooters and the other a Country Hoedown at the house.  We had a great time at both shindigs.  Grammy,  Great Grandmother and Keith all flew in for the occasion.  Averi may not remember the party but she can look at the pictures and tell how much her family loves her.

Vacation in the Dells, High Ho the Merrio, Vacation in the Dells

Filed under: Home Life — Luke @ 8:43 am

To escape the bitter winds of the Midwest we went on a mini vacation even  further up north.  A blizzard hit while we were there but everything was indoors so it was still a, much needed, wonderful vacation.  We took our neighbors grand-daughter with us so Jill could have a buddy.  She was a hoot.  As you can see we had plenty to do in the short time we were there, 2 days.  We didn’t get any pictures at the water park because we didn’t want to worry about a camera while we were riding the tides.

Averi did quite a few “firsts” that weekend.  She rode her first merry go round,  went down the water slides, (on Mommy’s lap of course) and took her first shower.

Averi’s on vacation again this weekend with Daddy in Georgia.  They are having a wonderful time according to the phone calls.  Well, enjoy the photo’s and come back soon for Averi’s First Birthday Parties!
